Centennial Clubs Unite to Support Fellow Eagle

Words: Miranda Mason

On Saturday, September 14, 2013, four Centennial clubs will be working together to put on a bake sale in front of the Miller Branch Library from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Centennial’s UNICEF, Salvation Army, Red Cross and Horizon clubs have combined their efforts to plan the bake sale in order to support Daniel Anand, a Centennial student that has been diagnosed with leukemia.

“We want to make sure we’re there for him,” said junior and co-President of the Salvation Army club Shreya Nalubola. “We want to raise support for Daniel and show we’re all a community.”

In addition to their work on the bake sale, members of the Salvation Army club are making cards to send to Anand. The deadline to turn in the cards is September 27, and according to Nalubola students do not need to be members to participate.

“Anybody who wants to help can,” said Nalubola. Students who are not directly affiliated with the Salvation Army club can turn their cards in to a member before the deadline.
