Centennial’s Model United Nations

Words: Maggie Ju

Centennial’s Model United Nations (MUN), which meets every Thursday in Room 903, simulates the United Nations. The members research real-world issues and conflicts and strive to understand foreign affairs. Multiple times a year, delegates present their conclusions at large conferences, which often have a few hundred attendees split into committees. MUN provides great opportunities to meet new people and build confidence in public speaking.

There will be a Team Building Day at Centennial Park on Saturday, October 21.

On November 11, CHS will host its own MUN conference for the ninth year running. Over 280 delegates will be attending!

From February 8 to 11, the CHS delegation will attend the MUN conference at Johns Hopkins University.

The club is considering the Global Citizens MUN (GCMUN) from February 22 to 24, in Times Square, New York. It will be their first time participating in GCMUN.

On April 20 and 21, delegates will visit Georgetown University to simulate the League of Arab States in Model Arab League.

These dates are tentative and subject to change.
