The Centennial boys varsity lacrosse team faced Glenelg High School for their senior night on Wednesday, May 2. The team saw ten seniors play in their last home game: Jack Schlossberg, Francis Kim, Dillon Glyder, Thomas Thurmond, Michael Pellegrini, Jeremy Wilson, Zach Trimper, Brandon Shipe, Taran Thielemann, and Dylan Toth will be sorely missed by teammates and coaches.

Glenelg started off the game with a strong presence having four unanswered goals. The Eagles were struggling to get a rhythm going on offense, but junior Charlie Hockersmith, scored a quick goal that was the Eagles first of the game.

Hockersmith immediately scored his second goal with a quick pick up off the draw. The score was 4-2 with the Eagles still hopeful of a comeback. Glenelg began to pull away scoring goal after goal and the Eagles had no answer.

By fourth quarter the game had seemingly slipped away from the Eagles with the Gladiators ahead by a wide margin. Hockersmith delivered once again for the Eagles, scoring back to back goals, topping off his hat trick for the night. Hockersmith played an integral part in keeping the Eagles in the game.

Junior Peter Krawczyk scored two goals and Senior Jeremy Wilson scored one goal in the final minutes of the game. The Eagles came close to beating the Gladiators, but fell short losing 10-7.

The team takes on Howard High School for their final game on Friday, May 4.
