Words: Joey Sedlacko

On Saturday morning, Centennial Boys Varsity Soccer defeated Long Reach High School by a score of 2-1 to advance to 2-1 on the season.

10 minutes into the first half, the Eagles struck first with a goal by senior forward, Hamzah Elhabashy. Two minutes later junior midfielder, Elliott Keppler, added on another goal as well.

Centennial went into halftime with a commanding 2-0 lead. However in the second half Long Reach was able to get a goal back.

The Eagles kept their composure though and secured the victory by finishing the second half with solid defense, and not allowing Long Reach to tie up the game.

The team’s next game will be a home game versus Marriotts Ridge High School on September 25 at 5:30pm.
