The Centennial Varsity wrestling team is sending two wrestlers, senior Jacob Blyukher and junior Jason Kraisser, to the MPSSA 3A state tournament on both Friday, March 2, and Saturday, March 3.
Kraisser, the brother of two former state champions at Centennial High School, is seeking to add a third state championship win to his already-impressive resume as a junior. Kraisser has had a superb season, pinning all of his opponents except one, and is looking to keep his unbeaten streak alive heading into states.
This has been a season of firsts for Blyukher. He not only won his first county title, but he also captured his first regional title. His hard work throughout the season has evidently payed off as he will be making his third appearance at the state tournament in his four years of wrestling at Centennial.
Both wrestlers are expected to have tough competition in their final tournament, but it is hopeful they will both end in victories. The state wrestling tournament will be held at the Show Place Arena at 2:30pm.
