On November 5, 2025 Centennial’s Girls Volleyball team will take on the Howard Lions, the number one team in Maryland (16-0), one last time for the title of Regional Champions. Having lost to the Lions in regular season (0-3), the Eagles are prepared for a chance at redemption.  

Coming off of four consecutive shutout wins, the team is “super excited to have made it this far” Hannah Shiau, senior captain, said. 

The team has been anticipating this game for quite some time, with each practice and game  being a chance for the team to get better and gain more experience with the sport as well as with each other.

Reflecting on their previous matchup, Shiau added, “It was a tougher loss than we had anticipated, but we’ve mentally matured since then.”

Eagles Head coach Michael Bossom complemented this by mentioning that he feels good but, “it’s going to be a challenge playing Howard.”

Adding onto Bossom, Shiau admitted that Howard is a respectable opponent. “We’re holding ourselves to higher standards as we go into Wednesday’s championship and focusing on what we can control on our side of the net.”

Taking it one game at a time, Bossom stated, “We have to play our best match of the season this match, and next match we’ll have to play our best match of the season then.”

It’s no doubt that this Eagle-Lion matchup is one you won’t want to miss. Will the Eagles redeem themselves or will the Lions mark Wednesday as the end of Centennial’s 2025 volleyball season? Our money is on Centennial.
