With the winter season settling in and spirits running high, this year’s Winter Pep Rally is shaping up to be one of the most exciting ones yet.
Responding to feedback from the fall’s pep rally, Dr. McDonough and the SGA board have worked to make this pep rally a success for all students.
“This time, we’re just really hoping to allow more student interaction.” McDonough noted.
Taking feedback from the students, “Eagle,” a basketball-inspired version of “Horse,” will replace the traditional volleyball competition in the gymnasium.
SGA Recording Secretary Benjamin Wan stressed that the main focus this time around is student interests. He notes that the main goal of this year’s pep rally is to be inclusive of all grade levels.
“I want students to feel proud to be an Eagle.”
By popular demand, the SGA still plans on bringing back the familiar school-wide games of Musical Chairs and Red Light, Green Light; the SGA hopes this new approach will appeal more to student interest.
McDonough, who is the main event coordinator, notes that while balancing teaching and planning responsibilities can be demanding, hearing honest student feedback makes the process meaningful.
All that have planned this event have the hope that students leave the rally not only entertained but also feeling a sense of belonging.
With anticipation at an all time high, we are all excited to see what Centennial has in store for this year’s winter pep rally!
