Words: Joey Sedlacko

On Friday, May 3, the Centennial Varsity Boys’ Lacrosse team finished the regular season strong with a victory on their senior night, defeating Howard High School 7-2.

Seniors Noah Bussink, Matt Demme, David Gostomski, Charlie Hockersmith, Andrew Kauffman, Gavin Kemp, Peter Krawczyk, Thomas Martin, and Stafford Smith were recognized on Friday night.

The game started off slowly for both teams, and at the end of the first half, the score was tied 1-1. Senior attackman Peter Krawczyk had the lone goal for the Eagles.

It was a game focused on defense, but the Eagles were able score two goals in the third quarter to go up 3-2.  It was not until the fourth quarter that Centennial started to pull away.

Centennial scored four unanswered goals to secure the 7-2 victory. Krawczyk finished with a team high three goals. Juniors Connor Carpenter and Ty Sams led the team in assists, each with one apiece.

The Eagles will play at home for their first playoff game on May 10. The start time and the opponent is yet to be determined.
