On Tuesday, May 14, the Centennial Varsity Baseball team lost in the 3A East regional semi-final to Atholton High School which would mark the end of the season and an impressive playoff run for the baseball team.
Centennial started the playoffs strong with a 7-1 first round victory over Long Reach High School on May 10. In the second round, Centennial shut-out top-seeded Reservoir High School 4-0 to advance to the regional semi-final game.
Junior Zack Steen was locked in versus Reservoir and led the team to victory with his strong pitching performance. Steen pitched six innings, allowing zero runs and had nine strikeouts.
After defeating Reservoir, the Eagles faced Atholton High School.
Senior Jake Ewart pitched a solid six innings only allowing two runs on six hits, but the Eagles struggled to find their rhythm offensively and lost 2-0 to Atholton.
Centennial Varsity Baseball finished with a final record of 11-10 on the season.
