On Thursday, February 20, Centennial is holding a Spring Sports Registration Night from 4:00pm to 5:30pm. Spring sports forms will not be taken prior to the event, so attendance is recommended.
In order to be academically eligible, students cannot have more than one E on their second quarter report card and must have at least a 2.0 GPA. For students trying out for a sport the first time this year, they need a pre-participation physical examination dated on or after April 1, 2019, a sudden cardiac arrest acknowledgement form signed by both the guardian and the student athlete, a parent permission form, and a BGE bill, water bill or a landline phone bill (dated January 15, 2020, or later). For students who have already played a sport this school year, they only need a new parent permission form and a recent BGE bill. Students who have never participated in a sport at Centennial High School need to turn in a photocopy of their birth certificate.
Spring tryouts are beginning February 29, which is the last day to turn in forms. Students are required to be in attendance every day of tryouts.
The spring sports are Allied co-ed Golf, Allied co-ed indoor softball, JV (Junior Varsity) and Varsity baseball, JV and Varsity boys lacrosse, JV and Varsity girls lacrosse, boys and girls outdoor track, and boys and girls tennis.
