On Friday, March 12, the Centennial Eagles’ football team celebrated their long awaited senior night. Even though they fell short to Mount Hebron High School with a score of 14-12, the Eagles were proud of the improvement they have made over the past couple years.

Centennial football honored seniors Duran Anderson, Joe Bundi, Sam Bussink, Khalil Conteh, Kevin Hammond, Brendan Hlibok, Entian Ma, Sung Woo Park, Charlie Schmitt, Parhinder Singh, Aidan Stanislavsky, and Dylan Watson.

“Senior day is a day you look forward to as you go into high school sports,” said Aidan Stanislavsky.

In just the span of a couple years, Centennial has reworked themselves from a school without a varsity team into a competitive football program. “From going from a team who did not score any points to what we’ve become today shows how much work this group of guys puts in everyday,” Stanislavsky stated.

Centennial Cheer also celebrated their senior night, honoring seniors Kash Awosika and Bonnie Jackson.

“My girls and I did our absolute best at senior night,” Awosika said. “Not only to be spirited but also to support our hardworking peers on the football team.”

“After having such an underwhelming and unpredictable senior year, having a night that celebrated our final year at this school was so delightful,” Jackson stated.

Awosika added, “thanks to our athletic director and coaches, it was able to happen.”
