This fall of 2025 has found the sight of up to 103 new books in the media center, with a multitude of categories added for the upcoming Centennial school year. Not only are the genres flexible for everyone, but they apply to subjects for many classes.
Centennial High’s media specialists have been providing reads along with diverse book selections. Let’s Make Bread! by Ken Forkish illustrates the many recipes of bread and foods you can eat with these recipes. It is a comic book cook book which allows for visual learners to really grasp the recipes and enjoy their own cooking.
The fantasy genre is a huge additive to the media center as around 20+ have been received into the catalog and one eyecatching book, Daughter of the Bone Forest, which follows the main character Rosy who has the power to shapeshift into an animal but is marked with an exposed bone. She cares for her grandmother and one day saves the princess of the Witch King’s army granting her an invite to a prestigious school. This won’t allow her to take care of her grandmother as much and causes a dilemma.
“We purchase new books every year that we hope will encourage students to read. We try to find books that represent all the communities that make up CHS. We are always open to recommendations from students for new book purchases also,” Centennial media specialist Steven Parker says. Mr. Parker and our media team focus on the importance of inclusion and variance while also providing readers with new books especially for this fall.
This fall seeks amazing inspiration for readers new or experienced and remember to thank our media team for these books and keep reading Eagles!
