On the evening of Wednesday, October 17, Centennial High School’s improv group, Awkward, put on their first show of the 2012-2013 school year.
Awkward shows are very similar to the well know T.V. show, “Who’s Line is it Anyways?” The members are given topics, characteristics, locations, etc. from the audience to create an improvised skit.
The hour show was full of laughs and jokes. To get excited for the upcoming holiday, there were also many references to Halloween during the various skits. “The first Awkward show of the year was really exciting,” Niall Musonda, sophomore and member of Awkward, said. “We had a good crowd show up and I can tell it’s going to be a great year of improv.”
Awkward held auditions on Tuesday, October 23 after school for people interested in joining the team. “I [couldn’t] wait to see potential new members Tuesday at the auditions to see just how ‘Awkward’ the year is going to be,” Musonda said. Their next show is in mid-January after midterms during Fat Nite Follies.
