Officer Mark Perry, a police officer who dedicated 10 years to protect the Centennial student body, retired on Friday, September 12.
Centennial students and administrators alike will miss Officer Perry and the amount of warmth and hospitality he showed while keeping Centennial safe.
According to Ms.Helmrath, Centennial’s principal secretary, Officer Perry is said to have retired because he felt, “he was ready for a change”.
Perry stepped down from his position at Centennial and will now will be part of the security detail in Glenelg High School. His replacement is yet to be determined. Although Perry may have left Centennial, his commitment and affection towards the school will never be forgotten.
Ms. West, the assistant principal, says “I’m happy for Officer Perry, he’s doing something different, something he wants to do. However, Officer Perry will be missed.”
