Howard County Welcomes New Superintendent (Kyle Simpson)

Howard County announced today the replacement for long-time superintendent Sydney Cousins. Dr. Renee A. Foose will be stepping in as his replacement.

Dr. Foose has a two-decade background serving Maryland, 15 of which were spent in the Maryland educational system; she was the deputy superintendent of Baltimore County Public Schools, and the assistant superintendent of Montgomery County Public Schools. She also has experience being the principal of Earle B. Wood Middle School, which is where she is accredited with the implementation of an innovative middle school reform policy, in Montgomery County from 2006-2008, Boonsboro Middle School in Washington County from 2003-2006. She also was a Assistant Principal at Governor Thomas Johnson High School in Fredrick County from 2000-2003. Dr. Foose also has some experience in the classroom as a teacher at Parkville High School in Baltimore County from 1996-2000, before that she was a Maryland State trooper from 1990-1996.
