On Friday, April 20, 2012, the Centennial Eagles won against the Wilde Lake Wildcats 16-10. Starting pitcher Jerry Burgow lasted only one inning and gave up four earned runs. Pitcher Joe Eads came in and relieved Burgow, but he struggled in his one third of an inning giving up two earned runs. After Burgow and Eads struggled to get Wildcats hitters out, coach Ahearn called to Areian Vedadi to finish the game. Vedadi went five and two thirds innings and gave four runs. Centennial’s hitting picked up the struggling pitching. Pitcher Areian Vedadi also had a good day at the plate. Vedadi went 2-3, with a single, double, two walks, an RBI, and scored five runs. First basemen Garrett Kurz also had a good day at the plate going 2-4, with two home runs and six RBI’s. Third basemen Jared Lacey went 1-2 and hit a grand slam totaling for four RBI’s. The Eagles hope to continue their winning ways versus the Mount Hebron Vikings on Tuesday, April 24, 2012.
