Several clubs at Centennial High School, including Make A Wish, UNICEF, and Girl Up, are handing out orange UNICEF boxes that are used to collect money. The funds are sent to help children in over 190 countries and territories by providing immunizations, education, health care, nutrition, clean water, and sanitation.
Students can fill the boxes with spare change, and can even go door-to-door to ask for donations. The boxes are available at the next meeting of UNICEF, Make A Wish, or Girl Up, and are due to the front office by November 13.
“It’s great to be involved in such an amazing event,” commented sophomore Ashley Chu, a member of Make A Wish. “I’m looking forward to actually making a difference in our community.”
