On Wednesday, December 9, the Centennial Girl’s Basketball team took on Hammond in what ended up being a 50-35 win for the girls.
In the first half, sophomores Kelly Simmons and Hailey Hamshey got things started on the offensive end, along with seniors Ally Driscoll and Kewa Grey also making key plays on the offensive end.
Hammond fought hard in the first half, only trailing by four after the first quarter and then by six at the half.
However, in the second half, however, the Eagle’s offense increased their intensity. Simmons, who finished with 22 points was all over the boards, finding ways to score and getting loose balls. Driscoll had a great defensive game and dove on the ground to get steals.
Along with Simmons’ 22, Gray finished with10, Driscoll with 6, junior Jasmine McMcree had 6, Hamshey finished with 4, and senior Jesse Dunagan had 2.
