On Thursday, October 27, Centennial Boys’ Varsity soccer defeated Reservoir in the first round of the 3A State Playoffs.
The Eagles quickly put numbers on the board when junior Nick Haskins scored in the first four minutes of the game. Less than thirty seconds later, senior Ammar Narmouq added another goal to the team’s lead.
The Eagles kept up their intensity and created many goal scoring opportunities. The defense held off the attacking Reservoir offense and match their physicality. At the end of the first half, Narmouq flicked the ball to junior Alex Keppler who finished it, putting the Eagles up 3-0.
During the second half, Reservoir came out determined to put a ball in the net. However, Narmouq scored again within the first four minutes of the half, scoring the Eagles fourth and final goal.
Centennial continued to play intense, but Reservoir was able to score late in the second half. The Eagles played their game and won 4-1.
The team’s next game will be at River Hill on Tuesday, November 1.
