Liberty in North Korea is a club focused on raising money to help North Koreans escape their country and help those hiding in China. They strive to educate the community about the people in North Korea. They meet every other Tuesday after school in Room 202.
The teacher sponsor is Ms. Lavender, and the club is led by senior President Leina Maeda and sophomore Vice President Masaki Maeda. The rest of the board consists of senior Caroline Chu and sophomores Austin Kim and Nick Yee. Together, they lead fundraisers to help those oppressed by North Korea. They run on the policy of “people over politics” and focus on the North Korean people, rather than the actions of Kim Jong Un.
