Helen Baldy (freshman)
- “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” – Ferris Bueller in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
- From being in online school, my favorite memories are of the jokes and off-topic discussions we had during class.
- Returning to in-person learning and getting the actual Centennial experience, sports, school, and clubs.
- My greatest achievement so far is balancing both school and competitive extracurriculars, sports and clubs at the same time.
- The camaraderie of sports (Lacrosse and Field Hockey), and I’m looking forward to getting involved in more clubs when we return to in-person learning.
Andrew Chong (freshman)
- My favorite movie quote would probably be “Oh yes the past can hurt. But the way I see it, you can either run from it or learn from it.” -Rafiki in the Lion King.
- I haven’t had many memories in Centennial so far for being a Freshman, but it would probably be near the beginning of the school year when we had breakout Lit circle groups. Every Tuesday, it would be groups and I made some fond memories with that group of people.
- The thing that I am most looking forward to in 2021 would probably be seeing my mom [for the first time] in over a year now. I wasn’t able to travel last year, hopefully it’s safe to travel this year in 2021.
- My greatest achievement so far would probably be making it into High School. As a kid, I never thought I would actually make it to high school but here I am.
- I don’t really have a favorite club or activity yet because I didn’t do much club activities this year and I have not gone to any of the activities so I don’t think I have one.
Gray Ren (they/them) (sophomore)
- “I’ll love some littler things”- A Burning Hill. ( it’s a song but they couldn’t think of one from their favorite movie; Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse)
- Hanging out with other students in GSA, building a community in theater
- Getting the vaccine and hugging my friends once quarantine is over (which will hopefully end this year)
- Getting straight A’s for the first time ever this past quarter
- GSA and theater
Meghan Creel (junior)
- “You are in a spaceship. You’re going to the moon, enjoy the ride.” -Alex Karev in Grey’s Anatomy.
- Performing at the 2019 pep rally was very memorable and a fun experience. I also loved when the field hockey team and I ran across the field during the pep rally.
- I am looking forward to going back to school even though it’s hybrid. I’m excited to change up my current routine and have more social interaction. I’m also looking forward to (hopefully) a homecoming and a prom.
- My greatest achievement was when I purchased my own car.
- My favorite activity at Centennial is being able to be a part of the field hockey team. I’ve met such great friends and we always have so much fun, even when we are forced to do sprints.
Philip Wang (senior)
- “That’s what the present is. It’s a little unsatisfying because life’s a little unsatisfying.” –Midnight in Paris
- Winning Outstanding Witness at the 2019 Empire Mock Trial Competition.
- Watching more sunrises, overcoming my fear of oil in Chinese recipes, and marathoning through The West Wing.
- Published my research on Isacc Newton’s alchemy and theology in Harvard Synthesis, the Harvard Undergraduate History of Science Journal.
- Spending my Tuesdays, Fridays, and every other Saturday in Room 606 (FIRST Tech Challenge Robotics Club!)
