Beginning Monday, March 1, the first phase of reopening schools will begin throughout Howard County. Students will return to their respective buildings, staggering every two weeks by the schedule that follows.

• March 1: Students enrolled in the five-day plan, which includes students in the special education program and others who need additional learning support.
• March 15: Pre-k through 2nd grade.
• March 29: Grades 3-6, 9, and 12.
• April 12: Grades 7, 8, 10, and 11.

Face coverings will be required for all students and staff returning to the building. For anyone unable to meet this requirement, schools will have face masks and face shield available. 

Students will be required to bring in their own devices daily, whether that be a school-issued chrome book or a personal computer. Work in the classroom will continue to be done electronically, so some sort of device will be needed at all times. 

For students returning to the building and students who are remaining virtual, there will be a daily schedule change beginning monday, March 1. Classes will now span for 85 minutes, with the last 25 minutes expected to be used for independent instruction. This gives teachers a 60 minute window for daily lessons opposed to the current 45. In addition to this, classes will begin at 7:45 and end at 2:30, with a 30 minute lunch break taking place during third period.As before, lunches will depend on an A, B, C, D schedule, which will be assigned based on your third period class.
