Centennial Field Hockey Knocked Out of Playoffs by Westminster

Words: Shawn Kruhm

Centennial’s field hockey season came to an end on Monday, October 28, after suffering a loss to Westminster Senior High School in the first round of playoffs.

The girls took an early 1-0 lead, but were unable to hold on as Westminster scored five unanswered goals. Centennial lost by a final score of 5-1.

Seniors reflected on their years with the Centennial field hockey team, as this was the last time many of them would ever play.

“Centennial field hockey has helped me make lifelong friendships with some of the greatest girls I will ever meet,” said senior Sara Ferrara. “I will miss seeing my best friends every day at practice.”

Senior Eliza Andrew said, “My favorite part of the past four seasons was singing on the bus with my friends and table topping everyone.”

Although the team fell early in the playoffs, the girls are proud of everything they accomplished in the 2019 season.
