On Friday, September 23, the Centennial Football team faced off with the Marriotts Ridge Mustangs for the Homecoming Game.
The Eagles, now 1-2, were looking for a victory for the Homecoming Game. Sadly, on a last second touchdown the Mustangs scored, putting the Eagles behind 21-20 to end the game.
Senior quarterback Matt Shoenberger had two passing touchdowns and one rushing. Senior wide receiver Elijah White had two deep touchdowns in the first half giving the Eagles a 14-7 lead going into the second half. White also had a key play by swatting a pass in the end zone to stop a game winning touchdown. Unfortunately, in the next play, the Mustangs scored and took the lead with the clock dwindling down.
The next game is on Friday, September 30, at Long Reach.
