Virtual Morning Announcements at Centennial During Online Learning

The morning announcements have come back to Centennial High School! The virtual announcements, videos put together by the CHS Film Club and the Morning News Crew, are being released every Wednesday around 12pm. Linda Norris, Centennial media specialist, will send out a Canvas announcement each week that will include a link to the videos for everyone to enjoy.

The virtual announcements are different from morning announcements in the past, but students have discovered a way to provide school news and updates to the CHS community. Students and staff can expect to see video clips of club activities, school events, music group presentations, honors society announcements, book recommendations, and more!

Students not involved in CHS Film Club or the Morning News Crew can also put together their own announcements, which should feature in-school groups only (clubs, school events, honors societies, etc). The clips, put together through an app called FlipGrip, can then be submitted to Norris via Canvas by accessing an announcement on the CHS Student Resources course. Once approved, the CHS Morning News Show anchors introduce the events with a lead-in clip. The final product is then sent out for others to view.

This new FlipGrid method and virtual announcements provide the CHS community more opportunity to get creative and share good news.
