Centennial Baseball Preview

Now that spring sports are in full swing, Centennial baseball is starting off the season with high expectations. Last season, the team won the county title and made it to the fourth round of playoffs. Following their triumphs, they are seeded #1 in the county for this season.

“I believe we have a very good shot on winning everything this year,” said junior 3rd baseman, Jack Corrao.

With a strong group of athletes and many returners, the team capitalized on their 2021 season, ending as region 3A champs. This year, with the loss of eight seniors, the future is unpredictable. With hard work and commitment, the team hopes to maintain their elite status.

The current team remains just as close as ever. “Everyone wants to get better and help each other reach our goals,” added Corrao.

“Losing 8 seniors last year is a huge hit…lucky we have younger guys like Carter Watson, Cade Ahearn and Zach Zippy Harris to help fill in the gaps,” junior catcher Qwynn Ahearn stated.

The team will be led by varsity coach Denis Ahearn, along with the four captains: Cade Ahearn, Qywnn Ahearn, Sean Conway, and Carter Watson. “I have no doubt the Eagles’ baseball team is gonna work its magic another year,” exclaimed Qwynn Ahearn.

Coach Ahearn also has very high hopes for this year’s team, as he stated, “Im looking forward to seeing how this team grows.”
