On Tuesday, August 25, the Boys’ and Girls’ Cross Country teams traveled to Middletown High School for a scrimmage.
It was a successful trip for the teams as Centennial won both races.
The girls’ team put on a dominating performance, as the top five finishers were all Eagles. Senior Devin McIntyre finished first overall with a time of 19.50, followed by senior Jessica Jiang, junior Kara Taylor, senior Ashley Mazer, and sophomore Courtney Tse.
The team has been a perennial state title contender for the past few years. Coach Kevin McCoy leads a very hard working group of runners that are looking to bring home another state title in the 2015 season.
For the boys’ team, senior Andrew Frommer came in first overall to propel the team to their first win of the year. Sophomore Daniel Gao followed Frommer while senior Jacob Riina, and sophomore Ethan Carpenter finished fifth and sixth respectively. Boys’ coach Al Dodds has his team ready for another successful cross country season. Dodds has put together many strong, competitive teams throughout the years and this one looks to be no different.
